DAY 13

Just think guys. It's only a half marathon...I know you all have done full marathons easy. This is cake! (don't beat me up, I am just having fun...)

Best wishes to Devon and his Grandmother.

I woke up at 12:30 AM and could not get back to sleep, so I headed out at 1:20 to get in my run. There is a surreal quality to runnng in the middle of the night; the streets devoid of cars, the one customer at Bob Evans, the train whistles that you don't notice during the day, perhaps a distant gunshot. Anyway,
did the same route as yesterday plus one more mile around Antrim lake.

I woke up this morning and I gave Jah praise for giving me two feet on which to run. I walked out the door at 0520 and came back 13 miles later. It feels good. This is a tough challenge trying to deal with lifes ups and downs and trying to have a family life too. But, I have a VERY supportive family who wants to see me achieve my goals. I shall continue on while I am in Calfornia. Now I am off to run in another place, another time, another mile…

My morning meeting got canceled soooo I went home and changed so I could get in my run. I had a friend tell me about a new trail the city is building that I wanted to check out. So I found it and got in 13.5 miles it worked out perfect time and distance wise. It is amazing how fast the time and miles go by when you are discovering a new trail.

Devon I hope your run brought you peaceful thoughts and good memories.

Finished 13 miles on a treadmill at JFK. Yesterday's investments paid off: no chafing and no knee pain thanks to Glide and a knee strap.

Did 8 early at fitness center before work and then struggled after work with 6 more. Think I was dehydrated from the morning run. My lesson learned today....what is worse than having your mp3 player battery going dead during (or before)your treadmill run? It is much worse to have one earbud working and the other one not.... turning up the volume definetly doesn't(didn't) help!! I may never be the same.
