Welcome to 18 guys! I wish i was still in the chase now that i had a day off.
Man just look at this, this race just got me so jacked up i spent the last 2hrs looking for another race to run.
Josh, I came across your name on the HUFF50 website.
can you email me back (off-blog)(mjw60k@gmail.com) so I can ask you a few questions about the race? Looks like I may have to parlay this "One-more-mile" thing into one more race this year.

Eighteen miles on the bike path. It was windy, so I alternated two to three miles heading south, then turnaround and do two to three miles into the northerly headwind.

Mike, I enjoyed your rogaine report. I have run quite a bit at Scioto Trails, so I can appreciate how steep the hills are. All the more challenging at night and in the rain. Congratulations.

RAN 8 before work and ran 10 after work....all at the fitness center on treadmills. Walked another 1.5.

I'm starting to have no free time.

I did a mile on the beach this morning, then it took me 3 hours this afternoon to do the last 17, much of it after sundown. I went from North to South and East to West a couple of times in Balboa Park. I got to see the homeless people start to bed down and the unfriendly joggers pounding their knees on the concrete. If I have to do concrete, I walk. Then my knees don't keep me from running the next day.

What a day it has been! I when to bed last night after thinking that I had posted my miles trying to figure out when I will get in the 18 miles the next day. Then when I get up and check the blog BAM! I am dropped what a shock! I am mad so I went out for a run which was cold but felt good because I was frustrated. I was so mad at myself for not double checking that I had posted my comments on the blog I forgot my Garmin to track the miles! When I get home from lunch I see that Mike so generously has let me stay in the insanity. Now panic how many miles did I already run this morning? I guess the only way to know is back out the door later on to retrace the steps! It sended up being 10.3 miles each time so I got some extra penalty miles in today. Thanks for letting me stay Mike and bring on 19 tomorrow.

no problem Jeff. The comments are unmoderated now, so you should be able to see them almost immediately on posting.

All that means is some internet idiot might get some spam comments on here for a bit before I can detect and delete them, but the opposite of the stress you went through is not worth it.

I now have faith that some/one of you will make at least a marathon.

I like Dave Peterman's comments about having a life....or not having one I mean...haha.

All that is left for today is Devon and I can put up the new total miles on the side bar.

I guess Dave said "not having free time" and not "not having a life"...that was a typo on my part.

Did 5 miles around a .5 mile paved track. Then did the other 13 miles around Schofield Barracks and WAAF. It took me 3 hours and 42 minutes. All of it was on yucky road and concrete and most of it in the dark:( Now I need to ice my knees, take some ibuprofen, and go to bed because tomorrow I gotta run 19 miles:) anyway talk story later. Jah bless.
