Love the idea of a race Tshirt for next year. Put the days on it and each runner can "X" out each day as they complete each run. What a fun concept! I would gladly pay an additional $10-$20 for something like that. Josh and I were emailing about not needing to run the past few days but damn, I really wish I would have pushed myself harder, I think I could have made it a few more days. I can't wait to redeem myself next year! You guys that are still in this are incredible. I can't believe you are juggling your schedules to manage these high mileage days. Keep it up. Michael Ward
You think they are "incredible" Michael? Wait till tomorrow's graphic....hehe...teaser.
If you guys want T-shirts like that next year, I can arrange something cool. I will go through Wild Bill to get it set up, and based on how far the last runner goes this year, that will set the number of days on the back....
I am going to plan on going a lot farther next year myself....
This is really cool, watching these guys duke it out!
"The Trials of Miles;Miles of Trials" - Once a Runner
The miles are starting to take their toll. Each day my legs feel a little heavier, the pace is a little slower and each mile seems a little longer; but on we go.
Incidentally, Once a Runner is being re-released in hard cover. Definitively a worthwhile read.
I got in 13 miles this morning running to work. I plan to run the direct route home to get in the remaining 7.
I was on vacation the last three days (Monday-Wednesday). It was something I had scheduled a while ago to get some work done around the house. I got most of the work done (unusual for me), but it also made it easier to get the miles in. Otherwise, I generally work about 50 hours/week. I am married with a grown daughter who lives nearby, three teenage sons who live at home and a granddaughter who we babysit for occasionally. Life is good.
Already have a run of 8 in (dreadmill again).....ONLY 12 more to do after work (I didn't need to see the wife & kids today do I). This is worse than a 100 miler....that is usually over in a day or two....either you finish the 100 or they kick you off the course ...either way you are DONE!
Yeah, this is getting pretty intense. I don't think I would have made it this long. It's like the finish line could be tomorrow, but you just never know!
got 18.5 miles from Wahiawa to Sunset Beach then back to the Banzai Pipeline where my wife was waiting at my mother-in-laws. Then we drove to 1.5 miles away from home and I finished up my run which makes a total of TWENTY MILES. Todays run makes 234 miles for me so far this month. I am DAMN proud of myself. I feel better doing a day run than a night run... anyway. talk story later. Jah Bless.
Finished up with 12 more on the treadmills after work...4,1 and 7. The 1 mile was on the treadmill that couldn't keep up with my blistering barely sub 8 minute per mile pace ( I won't be using that treadmill again). My legs, hips and butt are sore....I'm starting to whine more, plus I'm tired. Luckily I get to sleep before I decide if I'm going to continue on to 21. This is crazy.
Well boys I am tapping out.....Life caught up to me! At 3:30 this morning my mother in law had a heart attack. So today instead of running I needed to care for my family. I drove my wife to Little Rock then came back to get kids from school and then I had to work tonight till 9:45. So there was no time to run. I hate that I am out. I feel I could have gone through the weekend. Good luck to the rest of you! I will be back next year and I want a shirt next time!

So I had to be content with walking 3 miles in a break between events. I ran 3 miles with my sister along the Rio Grande, then another 14 alone and in the dark. On the way back the winds picked up to 15 mph and I had to put on my sunglasses to avoid grit in the eyes. Brutal. Then the muscles started seizing up in the cold. Yeah it was only 45 degrees, but with the windchill and being used to San Diego, I was barely tough enough. Finally tomorrow I have a day to myself and can get started running early. These early sundowns make it tough. Maybe April would be better next year. It was after 11 and I was in bed when I remembered to enter my mileage -- am staying at someone else's house and had to find a computer without waking up the family. Then it died and I had to find the charger.

This is incredible to watch/read. Thanks for the updates and good luck with your 20 miles today.

Keep truckin guys! You're an inspiration.
A 7 mile run home from work gets me to my 20 for today.

Nice work Dave. I don't see you as quitting before the marathon. You COULD go to Slim Pickens Saturday and get 52 in....
:)
Stay tuned for some fun tomorrow...mum's the word.

Disregard....I overslept...forgot to set an alarm... :)
