This shall be my last post (except to post some comments). I went to the doctor and my knee cap is a little out of place so I need to take a couple days off. I know I could've made it more but I need to stay helathy for the HURT 100 in 56 days. I will be back next year with a new strategy. My stats are: 234 miles 44,954 calories burned 59.5 hours I am really bummed about the outcome but I know I need to stay healthy for my ultimate goal. I wish you guys luck and stay healthy. I actually told Mike that i was only going to go to day 12 and I made it to day 20 because of my addictive personality:) Anyway keep in touch and I will see you next year. Jah Bless.
Awww...dang it Devon..sorry to hear it. You surprised me...on the phone yesterday you had me believing 30 was in your sights! I hope we stay in touch through the year after this ends!
Can we get a refresher on your charity of choice should you be the most stubborn? Also a photo would be welcome to ultragomer at the G mail daht com.
Ted, sorry I let you down and didn't meet you for the video of your run this morning. I fell asleep by accident watching the game with no alarm set and woke up after 5 am...knew you were still running, but not sure where to find you. I have my kids this weekend...so..Monday may be possible. I just know you guys aren't going to quit before the marathon right?
30 was in my sights but not in my knee:) Sorry to let you down:( But I have the HURT to look forward to:) I will be sure to keep in touch and look forward to you coming out to run with me sometime in the future.
Procrastination is my middle name....waited till after work to run. I think Ted has the right method...knocking out a good 15 early makes the rest seem easier. I was going to do all 21 on trails....but ended up getting only17+ on the Towpath. Came home and finished with 4 walking on my wife's treadmill. I'm not allow to run on my wife's treadmill....I shake the whole house and she doesn't like me sweating all over it. 17 on the Towpath took alot out of me....they don't plow it and there was 10-12 inches of snow on all the bridges and boardwalks. It took me over 3 hours to get those 17 miles in and the Towpath is pretty flat. Barely surviving for another day. Jeff - I hope your mother-in-law is doing better.
Saw the little nephews off to school, washed dishes from last night's party, and ran 6 miles along the border with my sister's dogs. Had to return before they wore out and died in the desert. Returned to stack the dishes, check my latest stock losses, and went to the Rio Grande to do 10 more miles. I flushed lots of doves and a flock of ducks. After an extended dinner with the neighbor (a bottle of wine apiece), I did the last 5 on the treadmill. No one tells me I can't run on it, but it makes a horrid screeching when I do. My charity is Mercy Ministries (www.mercyministries.org), which helps young women turn their lives around. erik

14.5 miles in to work this morning. The bike path portion had a thin glaze of ice, forcing me to slow down even more.

7 miles running home from work gets me to 21.5 for the day.
On to week four.

Devon - I think that you got some good training in for the HURT 100...44,954 calories is like 100 Jr bacon cheeseburgers!
